Errol Burnett
Chief Food Storage Inspector

Errol Burnett came to the FSPID as a young Food Storage Inspector in 1982. He was promoted to the post of Senior Food Storage Inspector in 2002 and has been acting as the FSPID’s Chief Food Storage Inspector since January 2009. He is the first Food Storage Inspector to have moved up the ranks to hold supervisory responsibilities having had over twenty-nine years of experience in the field.

  • Certificate in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Levels I - IV (Canadian Food Inspection Agency, 2000)
  • Certificate in Storage of Durable Agricultural Products in the Tropics (Natural Resource Institute, UK, 1988)
  • Diploma in Agriculture (Jamaica School of Agriculture, 1975)

Outstanding Achievements

  • Long Service Award – Jamaica Civil Service (2008)
  • First runner-up, Civil Servant of the Year Awards 2011
