The new minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, the Honourable Christopher Tufton, visited the offices of the FSPID on August 3, 2011, shortly after assuming office. Minister Tufton met with the Acting Chief Food Storage Officer, Mr. Martin Townsend, and all the heads of the FSPID units. The minister then toured the five laboratories of the FSPID and then had a brief meeting where the functions of the FSPID and proposed amendments to the FSPI Act and Regulations were discussed.
